Student Voice - Au Yi Ka

HKUMPH

Hello, my name is Rachel. I graduated from PolyU Hong Kong with a Bachelor's degree in Physiotherapy and currently work as a physiotherapist at a public hospital. I have always known that I wanted a rewarding career that allows me to make a positive impact on people's lives. I have chosen the concentration Health Economics, Policy, and Management for my Master of Public Health (MPH) studies. Through this course, I hope to develop my leadership and management capabilities along with analytical and conceptual knowledge to build a multifaceted career portfolio.

I believe that effective leadership and an understanding of the economics and governance of health policies are vital for solving complex challenges within the healthcare sector on both local and international scales.

Receiving the UGC Targeted TPg Fellowship has been an incredible honor. It not only alleviated financial concerns but also validated my efforts and aspirations in the public health sector.

One of the most enjoyable aspects of my MPH studies so far has been collaborating with fellow students from diverse backgrounds on group projects. Each person brings their unique perspectives, which enhances our discussions and overall learning experience.

The Master of Public Health program at HKU is an opportunity that can be a pivotal step for anyone passionate about making a meaningful difference in healthcare.
