The Master of Public Health program at HKU gives me invaluable, hands-on public health learning experience. Having this practicum opportunity enables me to put classroom theories learned from MPH courses into real life practices. I have always had an avid interest in dietary and mental health. My practicum experience in the Dietetic Department at a public hospital has given me chances not only to gain practical experience in public health services but also to explore more possibilities of my interest which helps me for my career advancement. My practicum experience helps me to develop essential skills and competencies including but not limited to problem-solving and analysis, report writing and oral communications, and leadership. Unexpected learning by supervisor sharing and connections with others are also the fun part of this practicum. All of which become my new set of tools to build up a runway and takeoff to be an exceptional public health leader.
